Our Library is the result of a dedicated effort to centralize research and information specifically about immigrants and refugees in Alberta. It brings together academic publications and community-level research, including insightful program evaluation reports. Designed for ease of use, the library caters to community members, service providers, students, evaluation consultants, and academics. We invite all stakeholders to contribute to this collaborative platform.
In 2020, a groundbreaking partnership between MITACS and CCIS conducted a thorough analysis of newcomer research in Alberta. Engaging with 12 leaders in the immigrant-serving and ethnocultural sector in Calgary, as well as 5 esteemed academics renowned for their work with immigrant and refugee communities in Alberta, the project unearthed key relationship challenges. The Newcomer Research Library has been crafted to directly address and alleviate these challenges, fostering enhanced understanding and collaboration among stakeholders.
